Gay Scouts

Yet another step in the de-moralization and de-evolution of mankind. The Bible very clearly states that Homosexuality is a sin, an abomination, in the eyes of God. Paul dealt with very similar issues with the church of Corinth two thousand years ago, and made very clear what God thought of homosexuality (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). The church of America has failed to proclaim the truth, leaving many Christians and followers of Jesus to support this, falling for the lies of the Liberals that this is about “Gay Rights” and not “Religion”. The Church has instead gone about being a “feel-good” social gathering, preaching about God’s love and acceptance for sinners, yet failing to acknowledge God’s justice and hate of sin. The Church has failed in it’s most basic duty: to proclaim the TRUTH of the Gospel to the nations. God absolutely HATES homosexuality. He did not design it to be this way. As I stated in my last blog, God does not hate the people, He hates their sin, their homosexuality. The verse I stated above ends like this: “(Verse 11) And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” This is giving people a way out of their sin, not an excuse to sin. The Boy Scouts have failed to remain strong under pressure, as far too many followers of Jesus have too, including the Church. American Believers have failed to proclaim the truth and instead follow the world, showing no difference in the way they act. This is unacceptable, and I refuse to be one of them, as should you. I will continue to stand against the humanist, pluralistic, “tolerant” society that we live in. If we truly love someone, we should not let them continue in their path of sin, their path to darkness, but show them the truth. Tolerance is no excuse for hate.

EDIT: After posting this blog, a friend made a very valid point, and I would like to share our conversation:

Friend: From the BSA: “Today, following this review, the most comprehensive listening exercise in Scouting’s history the approximate 1,400 voting members of the Boy Scouts of America’s National Council approved a resolution to remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone. The resolution also reinforces that Scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether heterosexual or homosexual, by youth of Scouting age is contrary to the virtues of Scouting. A change to the current membership policy for adult leaders was not under consideration; thus, the policy for adults remains in place.”

Its not that the BSA is saying that they are allowing homosexuality, its that they simply wont deny membership based on it alone. Its still not allowed nor is any sexual conduct. Also, they are not changing the policy for adults. If denying membership based on a sin were allowed then no church would have members. We’re all sinners and we all need a place to learn to be morally straight that’s the purpose of church and that remains the purpose of BSA.

Me: I do agree with you; however, many churches have failed to be that place “to learn to be morally straight”. If the Church of America would be that place, I have a feeling this would not even be an issue. And I certainly hope that is the purpose of the BSA. If it is, they need to be careful that they do not send the message that homosexuality is okay, but instead make perfectly clear that, although they do not support it, they “won’t deny membership based on it alone”.

Friend: Right! Its the problem with media and social networks that jump to the conclusion that because the BSA is no longer denying membership to youth based on homosexuality alone that the BSA suddenly says its ok to be gay. They are not making those kinds of judgments as they shouldn’t. Unfortunately it will ultimately be up to the individual troops and leaders to be the moral compass.
